About Music Box Attic

Music Box Attic specializes in the creation of exquisite custom music boxes with beautiful woodwork. Customers can select their preferred song from the extensive library on the website or even provide a song of their own choice. This unique feature allows for a truly personal and sentimental touch, making each music box a cherished keepsake.

Customers can choose from a variety of beautifully crafted boxes, including traditional designs, whimsical novelty boxes, and enchanting ballerina music boxes. Each box can be further personalized with engravings, creating a truly one-of-a-kind piece. Music Box Attic also offers a selection of other unique gifts like charming cuckoo clocks and stunning jewelry pieces.

When our team joined the project, we were presented with an already-developed website for Music Box Attic. However, the client sought our expertise to make customizations to specific functionalities of the site to enhance the user experience. Our goal was to ensure that the website not only showcased the exceptional craftsmanship and quality of the products but also provided a user-friendly and intuitive browsing and purchasing experience for customers.

How we did it

The challenge was to customize the existing website of Music Box Attic to meet the client's specific requirements and enhance the user experience.

Our solution involved implementing UI customizations, product page customizations, integrating a third-party product review tool, and creating holiday promotions to meet the client's needs.

The outcome of our work was a highly customized and user-friendly website for Music Box Attic with improved UI.

UI Customizations

One of the key aspects of our UI customization involved rearranging the home page. We strategically organized the content and layout to create a visually appealing and user-friendly interface. By carefully selecting the placement of key elements such as product categories, featured items, and promotional banners, we aimed to capture visitors' attention and guide them towards the relevant sections. The goal was to declutter the website, optimize the user's journey, and make it easier for them to discover the wide range of products available. We achieved this through thoughtful design choices and intuitive navigation.

Furthermore, we implemented a sticky "Add to cart" feature specifically for mobile devices. This enhancement ensured that the "Add to cart" button remained easily accessible and visible even as users scrolled through product pages.

Product Page Customizations

In addition to the UI customizations, we also focused on enhancing the product pages on the Music Box Attic website. Our team implemented a custom template that enables customers to easily explore personalization options according to a rule-based selection process:
  1. If a customer selects “Traditional music”, they can choose music from the library that opens up as a dropdown for quick access
  2. If a user selects “Custom music”, they need to specify the following before they add the song name or YouTube link:
    1. Module types which include features like power button (to control whether the music plays each time you open the lid), volume control, etc. These come at an additional cost which varies according to the feature selected.
    2. Music upload option (whether the user wants Music Box Attic to upload the music to the box or do it themselves after product delivery)
  3. Engraving option where the user can select engraving type and font style and preview the text in real-time
Each of these choices comes with detailed information to enable customers to make confident selections.

Trustpilot Integration

We integrated Trustpilot reviews on the Music Box Attic website. This way reviews left for Music Box Attic on Trustpilot can be viewed directly on the website. These reviews were strategically placed on relevant pages, such as home, collection, and cart, allowing users to access feedback while making their purchase decisions. On the product pages, customers can easily spot the Trustpilot “stars” at the top, which opens up to display the overall rating and a summary of that particular product.

Holiday Promotion Features

To help Music Box Attic capitalize on the increased consumer spending and heightened interest during holidays, we implemented a robust system for holiday promotions. We strategically placed promo banners on relevant pages such as home, collection, cart, etc. One of the key features of our implementation was the ability to enable or disable the promotions at the appropriate times to ensure that they were only active during designated periods. The promo banner texts and placement strategy were devised in a way to encourage customers to take advantage of the limited-time offers.


301 redirects were set up to ensure that any old URLs or outdated links were redirected to their corresponding new pages on the website. This helped preserve search engine rankings, maintain link equity, and ensure a smooth transition for both users and search engines.

In addition to that, we set up Google Analytics 4 to help the client gain valuable insights into website performance, user behavior, and conversion metrics. These metrics are useful in making data-driven decisions, optimizing marketing campaigns, and improving the overall user experience.
