About Geneverse

Focus: Website design & development to launch a new product | Custom App Development

Geneverse specializes in home power backup solutions, offering a range of products such as energy backup systems, power stations, and solar generators. Their mission is to provide versatile, affordable, and clean energy solutions to families and communities. Geneverse is dedicated to transforming centralized energy distribution systems into decentralized, self-sustainable networks. Through their products, they aim to help their customers achieve energy independence.

To further their mission, Geneverse developed the PowerPillar, a complete energy management system that integrates solar power, battery storage, grid, and generator power sources. To support this innovation, they partnered with Codaemon to set up a dedicated page for the PowerPillar.

Through this partnership, we helped geneverse.com increase their conversion rate by a whopping 166%. Let’s find out how.

How we did it

Geneverse needed a comprehensive solution to launch their new PowerPillar ESS product effectively. They required a new website to showcase this product and a separate B2B setup.

We designed and developed a new website from scratch for the PowerPillar ESS. This included creating dedicated pages for Homeowners and Installers, implementing a new menu structure, and integrating HubSpot forms. For the B2B aspect, we built a separate site, featuring a user-friendly interface and dedicated product pages for bulk purchases along with custom-creating a Shopify app to integrate a specific 3PL rate.

The new website and B2B platform provided a seamless experience for both consumers and business customers. The custom Shopify app accurately integrated the specific 3PL shipping rate, resolving previous checkout issues. After completion, the conversion rate for geneverse.com increased by a whopping 166%.

Website Design & Development for New Product

Geneverse wanted to introduce their new product, the PowerPillar ESS, to the market. To support this launch, we created a new website from scratch, handling both design and development.

The website was designed with dedicated pages for both homeowners and installers or installation partners of Geneverse. We implemented a new menu structure with specific submenus for each group. Homeowners have a separate product page with information relevant to them as well as an FAQ page.

Similarly, installers have their own product page with relevant information and an FAQ page. In a separate page for Installers, we have integrated a Hubspot form that users can fill in to start the process of becoming certified installers of the PowerPillar. Additionally, we integrated separate Hubspot contact forms for Homeowners, Installers, and Distributors and created pages for each form.

B2B Website Setup for PowerPillar ESS

We developed a dedicated B2B website for the PowerPillar ESS. This wholesale website is accessible from the main Geneverse website via a prominent menu button. The purpose of the separate setup is to streamline the bulk purchase process.

The B2B website features a straightforward, no-frills design with a user-friendly interface. It includes a distinct set of menus from the B2C site, focusing on essential components for business users. Products are directly listed on the homepage, with separate product pages allowing customers to add items to their cart and proceed to checkout easily. This setup simplifies the bulk buying process and enhances the user experience for B2B customers.

Custom App Development

For shipping integration, Geneverse needed to incorporate C.H. Robinson (CHR) rates into their B2B site, ess.geneverse.com. The existing app did not function correctly, so we recommended developing a new custom app from scratch.

We built a custom Shopify app specifically for Geneverse’s B2B site to display CHR shipping rates during checkout. This involved integrating CHR's API for accurate shipping rate calculation and implementing necessary authentication for API access. We also handled error management for cases where shipping options might not be available.

The development process included writing test cases for the app and performing quality assurance to ensure functionality. We set up an EC2 instance on AWS with a LAMP stack for deployment and verified that the company name was passed through order details. Additionally, we addressed feedback from both the CHR team and Geneverse to make the app function smoothly.

Miscellaneous Work

As a part of ongoing work on the Geneverse website, we manage updates on their home and sales pages. For special occasions, Geneverse offers discounts on their portable products. We update their relevant pages to feature the latest offer banners and content. This ensures that customers are immediately aware of current promotions and can easily find discounted products.
